This 3-hour clinic will focus on proper sweeping technique so that you can become more
effective at managing a rock in play.
It is best suitable for beginner to intermediate curlers.
Topics will include proper grip and arm placement and body alignment for maximum downward
broom pressure, the required foot work to maintain constancy of pressure on the broom, as
well as proper stroke mechanics and cadence. Video analysis will be used to detect and correct
your technique.
We will also discuss strategies for learning how to better judge the weight of
the rock as it moves down the ice, as well as the roll of the sweeper and essential
communicatioon responsibilities in the team management of a rock in play.
Finally, we will iintroduce you to directional sweeping to give you the technical ability to better manage the curl
of the rock.
